Luke & Elli's Whaplode Manor Wedding
All wedding days are bespoke; a different couple, a different date, a different place.
What the couple choose for wedding photography on their big day can also differ widely.
On this day Whaplode Manor was the location, Luke & Elli was the couple (congratulations) and 12th of August was the date.
The package they chose for the day was ceremony coverage, the intimate photoshoot and for me to return in the evening to cover the 1st dance and cutting of the cake.
Whaplode Manor, just outside of Holbeach, has a lot to offer;
Inside there is lots of exposed brick, stair cases, a large bar, separate spaces for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast.
The staff are very helpful. When shooting the family & friend photos outside in the courtyard/gardens, in the centre of the complex, the staff will happily move garden furniture to make the photographer, the newly weds & guests lives much easier, after all the bigger the group shot the more space is required.
A unique selling point for the venue is the stair case that the Bride can descend during the ceremony. A photographer can use the elevated position to get a different view of the ceremony proceedings,
Of all the things i like the gravel drive way and the access road leading up to the venue, its tree lined and quiet. Lots of fun can be had with the groomsmen and with the couple.
The courtyard garden is a great space for both the guests to socialise in sun and to enjoy a nice cold beer and for intimate shots of the bride and groom.
Colourful foliage and foreground interest a plenty
Surrounding the site is farmland, after all, this is the Fens. It's there to make use of.
Thank you to Luke & Elli for allowing me to photographing your wedding.
Enjoy!
